Why You Should Be Using AI In Your Business

Danny Pritchard
AI just got real, and it’s changing the way we do business. To stay ahead of your competitors you need to stay in front of industry changes, and lean into them, not away from them. AI is no different, and is a tool that you should start implementing in your business if you haven’t started incorporating it already.

AI has just taken a massive leap forward in usefulness over the past few months. At first, it was just novelty cool tech, but now it’s becoming an essential tool for business owners. To stay competitive, we’ll all need to get good at using AI!

There are numerous benefits of using AI within your business, such as (but not limited to):

  • Cost reduction
  • Improved sales and marketing
  • More efficient customer service
  • Automation of repetitive tasks
  • Boosting productivity
  • Content creation

And more! So how can you incorporate AI into your business? Read on…

AI just got real – and it’s changing business forever

AI notetakers are becoming the norm, Google’s new Gemini is impressive, and it feels like we’re at the start of an AI revolution.

One tool we have been particularly impressed with is Lindy, your AI Assistant.

Here’s a few examples of what it can do:

Email triage - Instead of spending hours sifting through emails, Lindy filters the important ones, drafts responses, and flags anything urgent. You can even set criteria so it pulls answers from the internet or specific resources for certain queries, handling repetitive emails automatically.

Meeting management - Lindy syncs with your calendar, emails clients to book meetings, and even reschedules appointments if there’s a conflict. This completely eliminates the hassle of coordinating schedules.

Meeting prep (we are still playing with this one) - Before a meeting, Lindy researches the attendee (via LinkedIn, website, past emails etc.) and gives a summary of their business and any past interactions. This could save us all so much time!

AI phone calls – robots are now answering (and making) calls

Yes, over the phone! It's happening, we are starting to speak to robots. Lindy can:

  • Call a restaurant and make a reservation.
  • Check your calendar for availability, then call (or email) your buddy to coordinate.
  • Book appointments and add them to your calendar automatically.

Or let's say you own a restaurant. How about you make it your own virtual receptionist to take bookings (companies in San Francisco are already doing this. Soon health care providers will be too!).It can even speak foreign languages, so if you wanted to sell your products in China, you could get it to call a distributor and negotiate deals. Then it will translate and summarise the conversation in English for you.We haven't tried using AI to make phone calls, but it claims to sound human. A suspicion is that it's not perfect, but remember this is just the beginning.

Keeping products & services competitive

Let's say you run an online retail store. Staying competitive means keeping up with trends in real-time. Lindy can help by:

  • Tracking competitor pricing & market trends – know when rivals change prices and adapt instantly.
  • Automatically adjusting your pricing & product range – stay ahead without manual updates.

Eliminating hours of research & decision-making get AI-driven insights on what to stock, when to discount, and how to maximise margins.

Does AI change how you think about hiring?

Tools like Lindy allow you to have a full-time assistant who never sleeps, never takes sick days, and doesn’t ask for a pay rise. So before your next hire, ask: Would a human or an AI be better for this job?

Whilst AI can mimic human behavior, it’s worth noting that it isn't perfect, and it isn’t human. Keeping an eye on the ball and proofing what work you are using AI to do is always advisable.

There’s no doubt about it, AI is here to stay, and as business owners it’s time to embrace it. To stay up to date with the latest business news, be sure to subscribe to our monthly email.
